A number of judicial races affecting civil appellate matters took shape following yesterday’s primaries. Here are the November major-party matchups.
Texas Supreme Court, Place 3: Rick Green and Debra Lehrmann have emerged as the top two vote-getters in a six-way Republican primary that was not final as of this morning. If the numbers hold true as expected, they will face each other in a runoff next month. The winner will go up against Democrat Jim Sharp to fill an open seat being created by Justice Harriet O’Neill’s departure.
Texas Supreme Court, Place 5: Republican incumbent Paul Green versus Democrat Bill Moody.
Texas Supreme Court, Place 9: Republican incumbent Eva Guzman versus Democrat Blake Bailey.
