When Integrative Medicine Physicians Sell Dietary Supplements: Legal Issues

By Michael H. Cohen on February 14, 2010

Serious legal issues can arise when physicians and CAM practitioners sell dietary supplements.

When physicians and CAM practitioners sell dietary supplements, legal issues can arise because of the conflict of interest between good patient care, and making money.

Some states explicitly regulate how much money physicians can make from the sale of ancillary goods such as dietary supplements.

Be sure to contact experienced legal counsel before making money off dietary supplements or other healthcare products in your practice.
