Tired of searching? Hire an expert

By Tom Mighell on September 24, 2002

This article from the SF Gate reviews “expert” services offered by Google, Yahoo, and Keen. I have always wondered about the viability of such services — a long time ago, I signed up to be a so-called “expert” at AskMe.com, and I was amazed at two things: 1) how much of a time drain it was — I spent all my free time looking up stuff on the Internet for people; and 2) how anyone could claim to be an expert — without quality control, the only criteria for admission into the “expert” club was each person’s opinion of their searching ability. Kinda scary that these people are charging fees for their services (to be fair, Google does screen its answerers).
