BLL-SIS is honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his vision for America. We can all look to Dr. King’s life and work to find hope and inspiration. We cannot forget the accomplishments that he made for the civil rights movement, people of color and the nation. Dr. King expounded nonviolence and civil disobedience. Dr. King dedicated his life to the struggle for racial equality in the United States. He played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African Americans in the United States, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He ultimately won a Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent campaign against racism. To honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, BLL-SIS has compiled a list of resources to help celebrate his life and work.
